A herd of cats

It’s a figure of speech. Literal cat herding would be, as ably demonstrated by Mythbusters, infeasible at best. Figurative cat herding is doing the nearly impossible, especially when it involves persuading lots of people (or objects) to do things they are naturally disinclined to do. And that, dear reader, is what we celebrate today. If you’ve already done six impossible things before breakfast, challenge yourself to do one more. Today, according to the site Wellcat, is National Cat Herders Day—the day to attempt the impossible, or at least the highly improbable.
