The DNC's latest attempt at being relatable on Twitter has everyone cringing

Make it stop.

Political parties aren't exactly known for their "hip" social media accounts, but most maintain some semblance of class.

Every once in a while, the Republicans or Democrats will post something so humiliating that Twitter users have no choice but to reply. Take, for example, this tweet that the official Democratic National Committee Twitter account posted on Saturday morning and which has since attracted highly understandable amounts of groaning from Twitter.

The tweet features a phone wallpaper with President Trump's face and the words "Boy Bye" (a famous Beyoncé lyric from the song "Sorry") placed on top of it. Users can download the kewl wallpaper for their phone by texting a five-digit number.

I understand that the Democrats want to drive millennial engagement by using cool lingo like "This is a mood" and referencing a three-year-old Beyoncé song. This tweet, however, just feels like something older adults would say after they Google searched "What millennials like" or read an About.com page about how to connect to young people.

It wasn't too long after the Democrats posted this tweet that people on Twitter began to respond with extremely acute jokes and memes.

Boy, bye to Democrats winning in 2020.
