The bad news is it's still a good few months before we can sink our teeth into Jordan Peele's new film. The good news, though, is we now have a brand new poster to analyse.

On Thursday, the Get Out director tweeted out the latest teaser for his upcoming movie Us.

It shows two hands, ominously clasping a large pair of golden scissors. Peele captioned it "Watch yourself".

Twitter quickly went into overdrive.

The first observation was that the hands appear to belong to a woman.

Then, someone spotted something even bigger: the handle of the scissors appears echo the shape of the two heads that appeared on the movie's first poster.

Elsewhere, someone made an interesting point about the way the title is written.

"Dual identity" does seem to be a good fit, doesn't it? The movie's title; the mirrored heads in the original poster; even Peele's self-reflective choice of caption for his recent tweet -- it all seems to point to the idea of doubles, or split personalities. The fact that a pair of identical twins have been cast in the film only re-enforces this.

At the moment, aside from the posters, we still know little about the film. One possible clue, however, lies in a brief synopsis shared by /Film last week, which they claim has been confirmed by two separate sources:

"A mother (Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o from Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and 12 Years a Slave) and a father (Winston Duke from Black Panther) take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (including Emmy winner Elizabeth Moss from TV series The Handmaid’s Tale). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited."

Pretty vague, but definitely intriguing.

Peele, meanwhile, followed up the new poster with more good news.

Plenty more opportunity for obsessive analysis right around the corner, then.

Us is in theatres March 2019.
