My hair got way too long and ridiculous so I went at it haphazardly with a pair of super scissors. I'm going to trim it up all nice tomorrow with the clippers but for now I'd call my hairstyle "Mental Patient".

One of the times when I was younger and moved into working in the office from the warehouse I woke up one morning and decided I was going to buzz my long-ish hair.
I had a cordless trimmer (what's the worst that could happen?) so I put on the #2 attachment and went to town.
BZZZZZZZRRRRZZZZZZRRRRROWWWWW <repeat>
I get to the back (which sucks doing yourself) and the trimmer noticeably started running out of juice.  "No, no, no!, I have to leave for work in 10-15 minutes!"
I put the PoS trimmer back on the base to charge but it wasn't having any of it.  I went to work with my self-induced farked up haircut looking like I had caught mange.
Decades later I still use the #2 but with a corded trimmer.  Environmentalists be damned, I hope that cordless PoS from before is at the bottom of the ocean.

I remember the time I was about 8, and my mom, a single mother working minimum wage and on subsidized rent, couldn't afford to take me to a barber.

So she literally went to the cupboard, got out a bowl, put it on my head, and cut off whatever stuck out.

The kid next door found out and started charging the other kids in the complex a dime each to come over and see the results.

I ended up with a mullet in 1999 because of the exact same scenario!

I ended up just chucking on a trucker cap and aviators to hide under. My callcenter colleagues did have much mirth at my expense. Very much mirth. Often.
