Ugh! Such a ripoff of how the zombie outbreak got started in the book version of World War Z!

Coincidentally, a big melt is what sent me to the bathroom just now.

Glaciers,
Permafrost,
Clathrates

I've been giving thought as to how best to mount a rampage.

Please.  The current panic still has a lot of mileage left in it.  Why jump to the next thing?

Old and stale viruses are dealt with by old and stale adaptations of the immune system.

So be afraid of some shiat that hasn't even been exposed to penicillin, much less the cutting-edge antibiotics we have now?  "It devastated the Ampolean Culture!"  The Ampolean Culture had just barely advanced past hunter-gatherers and still thought a cold was possession by evil spirits.  Despite the existence of things like the The Sun, we do have people alive today that understand what the farking germ theory of disease is.

You mean like sickle-cell anemia, which is a mutation that made surviving ebola infestation more likely? Yeah, misshapen hemoglobin is a GREAT trade-off for Americans who will never be within 1,000 of a case..

We also have people alive today who torch Ebola treatment centers because they think they're part of a conspiracy to steal your organs.

Sickle cell made surviving malaria more likely. Malaria is a multicellular parasite, not a virus.

Mother of god what is going on in schools these days?

Yeah yeah yeah. I've been hearing this "superbugs are coming!!!" since the early 90s.

I mean realistically humanity's best hope right now is a plague to kill off 1/3 to 1/2 of us, so let's get going bugs. You're way behind schedule.

I thought recessive sickle-cell helped with malaria?

\recessive CF was cholera, I think

Nowadays? I went to a school where most of the teachers were dumb as hell, back in 1995. Was told the "Manta Ray" was a sports car manufactured by Chevrolet in the 60's.

They meant STINGRAY. Just wanted to be petty, since I was the student and she was the teacher. Since she was teaching the class, she knew better than me...........

So I dropped out, studied hard and scored in the 99th percentile for the class she was teaching, when I was getting my GED... By the way, I'd just like to mention that some of us didn't have the same educational resources that you take for granted, so we're not as enlightened as you are.

Mother of god what is going on with your privilege?
