They say that Terry Jones died of dementia related causes, but that doesn't explain the Type 16 arrowhead found next to him on the gurney.

I don't understand the word "horrific".
What event necessitated a need for combining the words "terrific" and "horrible"?

Nobody knows anymore, but you can rest assured that it was terrifically horrible.

Apparently, "knows how to use a crossbow" is the same level of contributory evidence as camping outside to purposely snipe the old dude. Think the prosecutor may have become a bit unhinged?

Once you accept that the state is the only legitimate possessor of the right to use force, all kinds of ridiculous legal premises come along for the ride.  That's one of them.

Look at his photo FFS.
You can tell he's the type of violent, self loathing person who taunts his neighbors just WISHING somebody would come at him with a crossbow.

/ crossbows don't kill. Satellite dishes do.

This is important to state, it's about the cumulative evidence -  him being there at that time, the chance that he had the equipment, the fact that he had the ability to effectively use it.

TFA provides a hell of a lot of evidence, which the car fire failed to destroy.

Interesting how much information Jaguar Landrover were able to give the police about the vehicle's movements and status.

When Iived in Massachusetts, I would hear from time to time that a law requiring citizens of the Massachusetts Bay Colony to shoot anyone attempting to sneak across the border from Rhode Island and Providence Plantations was not repealed until the 1980's, when someone used it as a defense in a murder case.  Unfortunately, trivia from before 1995 is difficult to google.

I didn't see one either. Though the martial arts buddy of crossbow guy says the accused did some odd jobs for the victim. Perhaps there was a disagreement between them, but it wasn't in TFA.

most all modern vehicles have full information on everything the car has done. get an old VW if you want a reliable crime car and don't keep the GPS if you use one.

Oh, it ain't no myth.

From this BBC article on "bizarre rules" researched by a UK law firm:

Another says you can shoot a Welsh person all day on a Sunday, with a longbow in the Cathedral Close, Hereford. It is no more relaxing for the Welsh if they make another expedition just across the English border, to Chester. There, an ancient law says Welsh people can be shot with a bow and arrow inside the city walls and after midnight. "We wouldn't expect people to worry too much about most of these laws," said Mr Newman.

Or your cellphone.  Smartphones are the worst, but any cell phone, if it's turned on, is inherently beaconing your location in real time, and that information is saved.

Oh, and if your phone doesn't have a removable battery, you can't actually rely on the fact that it's off and not merely pretending to be off while still transmitting information about you.

https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/police-hackers-phone-tracking/

You can put the phone in a Faraday cage, or just wrap it in al-you-min-ium foil, but that of course (along with removing the battery, if you can) results in a phone that doesn't work.  So in that case, why bother bringing it at all?

Too late, apparently.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Innocent_II#Second_Lateran_Council
Can. 29 of the Second Lateran Council under Pope Innocent II in 1139 banned the use of crossbows, as well as slings and bows, against Christians
