I believe there was a black police officer that was undercover during the Ferguson riots, and he got the crap beat out of him by the white cops.  Since he still hasn't fully recovered from it, the legal consequences of that are still pending.

A coworker of mine had a first wife who was an extremely light colored half black. Their kids are one quarter black with basically a light tan on their skin. The oldest was born when the state requirements for birth certificates was the equivalent of the "one drop rule" so his basically white kid has a birth certificate that says African-American. It causes all kinds of problems.

Lemme break down Miami Cubans for ya.

The first Cubans that starting coming to the states in the 40s and 50s were wealthy land owner/robber barons who thought they were of pure Spanish european descent.

This can be actually seen when you look at them.  The longer they have been in the US the whiter they are.

Cause they were pretty darn white.

The poor people(darker) were not able to leave the island, so naturally people got darker.

CSB time. With some racisms.

I was at my neurologist yesterday for a nerve induction test to assess the progress of some nerve damage in my arm.

I was in the lobby with my white mother and two old white ladies.

The two old white ladies were talking how he was a silver fox and once said "he has amazing accent" and the other said "i know it is french accent because of his last name."

Meanwhile Fox news is talking about Puerto Rico and how Trump did nothing wrong and it all Puerto Ricos fault.

Then Fox segued into "the caravan" is a coming.

And one old lady says "Puerto Ricans are just trash" other old lady agrees and says "and look we got more of them coming."

My white mother gives me that look"just mind your business".  She knows me.

I did not say anything to the old ladies.

Dr. Jose comes out and the old ladies gushing.  He turns to shake me hand and I straight up ask him about his vacation to Colombia, in Spanish, and he answers me back in Spanish.

I introduced him to my mom in English and say "This my mother she actually lived where you are from, in Puerto Rico for a month".

farking crickets.

Bonus the pretty young nurse is blonde Colombian.

They could not believe there are white latinos.  We got em all fooled.

My colombian grandmother was half black.

I don't remember when the state changed the guidelines for a birth certificate, but the prior policy had some odd results like that. It was basically "One of the parents is Black so that means the child is listed as Black" without nuance. Thus, you ended up with an extremely light skinned child who was "African-American" on every form that required it.

School teachers would be calling attendance and call his name and he would raise his hand. The teacher was expecting a black kid so it was a lot of "No, the other John. Is there another John in the class? [looks around for the black kid named John]"
