I've heard about this  I guess some of the more valuable pairs have telltale red stitching on the inside.

¥150,000 = US$ 1,357

So definitely not cheap, but hardly the mother lode.

The crime is someone paying that much money for any article of any clothing.

I had a friend in the mid-90's who made a good living going to thrift stores around the Midwest, buying jeans and old tennis shoes, then flying to Japan and selling them at a huge mark-up.

One of my students was a jeans collector, and apparently it's not uncommon in Japan. He had a pair of extremely vintage (like 100+ years old) Levi's that cost him $3000.  Most of his daily-wear denim was in the $500-1000 range.  When i asked him if he ever wore the $3000 pair, he said "Of course! But only for special occassions".  Better than them sitting on a shelf, I guess.

I saw what you did there, subby.  I would hope that the court would give him some Lee-way.

I wear mens pants instead of women's pants. My size is a 38"-40" waist with a 30"-32" instep pair of mens jeans. I'm taller than most European men and they thought they could get away with my pants. That confuses me because I don't know any guy who can wear my pants.
