Aren't there breeds of dogs specifically bred for eating? Like cows? Otherwise, cool.

Valter: The meat of predators is not appealing in the least.

Leaving aside basically all seafood, chickens and ducks are pretty omnivorous

My flock of chickens eat like queens, their eggs and occasional rooster taste delicious.

Tonight we played ahi tuna football. I saved a tiny chunk of seared tuna from dinner. Threw it to the flock and off they go, the craziest omnivorific game in the universe.

Dogs aren't actually carnivores, they're opportunistic omnivores, and eat pretty much anything that's convenient. Just like chickens -- do you eat those?
(Chickens will hunt & eat bugs, worms, snails, slugs, small lizards, and baby mice)

Cats are obligate carnivores, dogs are not.   Heck, Tuna and Salmon are predators.

Not a fan of Korean food to begin with, never interested in travelling to South Korea, and I doubt that I'll ever find a pet microchip in my bulgogi (one of the few dishes I do enjoy) here in the US. So...really doesn't affect me.

/sour and fermented (outside of beer) are flavor profiles I can't tolerate

Not true. People mostly decide what's appealing or not based on pretty arbitrary cultural norms. Pretty much the only animal cuisine I don't think I've tried from the area is big horn sheep and possum. I don't think I'd care to eat possum.

Omnivores
For the most part they tend to taste like what they ate. Most pigs given the chance will eat carrion, birds, eggs etc. They taste fine.
Bears that aren't eating fish or trash taste a lot like grass finished beef.
Non urban raccoons tend to taste a lot like bear, just super duper greasy.
Coyote jerky tasted a lot like deer jerky.
I haven't had occasion to eat dog but I imagine it tastes quite a bit like coyote.

Carnivores
Cougar tastes a whole lot like really good pork. You do have to cook it super well because it'll absolutely give you trichinosis.
Bobcat tastes similar. I imagine cat is pretty close.
Gator I thought tasted like a not unpleasant fishy chicken.
Rattle snake tasted like dry chicken.

Chihuahuas were originally an "eating" breed.  Easy to keep, act as burglar alarms, and can convert table scraps into usable meat when times are hard.

Yep, there's room for all creatures next to the potatoes.

I was thinking about it and I did try muktuk and raw seal when I was a kid. It's hard to describe either as like anything else. I would say both are an acquired taste.

If you've eaten at a taco stand on the roadside in Mexico outside the big cities, you've eaten dog. Did you tell it apart? Guess not. Dogs aren't endangered, let the Koreans eat what they want
