Why didn't the cops just mow them down?
300 people brawling the cops shooting no one.

I'm sorry if violence is appropriate in these one-on-one confrontations I have a hard time understanding why violence doesn't happen in a brawl involving 300 people this only further proves that the police are utterly stupid

It's local news. We can't be sure if the reporter has a listening comprehension problem, or is playing the "deliberately misquote the black person" game.

She's in the video, at the 45 second mark. While her words aren't spoken in the most eloquent matter, you can at least understand what she's saying.

It's a big open-air development on an old steel mill property just north of Georgia Tech. The big claim to fame is i was where Cirque Du Soleil pitched their tent for years.

I don't think kids should get beaten up, but if some "abrasions" and "swelling" are the worst things you can describe, that doesn't exactly sound like a "brutal beating".

Sounds more like someone getting shoved/slipping and faceplanting onto a sidewalk.

Ah, so I guess you didn't notice that I screwed up and meant to say the 1 minute and 45 second mark.

She's basically trying to say that Atlantic Station should have some sort of age restriction, and that there needs to be something in place for kids to prove they're 17 or older. 13 or 14 year olds don't need to be out at places like this.

Of course, the article doesn't say why they were there - if there was any event that night, or just a bunch of kids hanging around for no particular reason. There's another video at the bottom of the article showing a report about a street takeover, which may or may not have anything to do with the article.

I'm saying cops like to say they used deadly force out of fear.
Is it reasonable to be fearful of one person?

Because waving your dick around and cos-playing Rambo looks a LOT less appealing when there are 300 MFers already all amped up and going apeshiat?  Even the dumbest "I am the law!" asshole can comprehend those odds.  Not to mention the 300 witnesses + randos attracted by the ruckus?  I wouldn't call it cowardice so much as understanding that you aren't going to win that one by getting shooty unless you brought a raging shiatload of cops - and even then shooting into mob scenes can go two ways.  A lot of the time people will run - but sometimes they will zombie apocalypse human wave your ass - now you're dead, the mob's tasted blood and will want more because that's how mobs work, AND they're armed.  Awesome.
