So I was talking with a fighter, he has had some good wins and fought on big stages. He said he is a very paranoid fighter. Not in the sense of scared, says he can take a good shot, but if he feels he is in a position he can't get out of, then he will get out. He says sometimes the situation he probably could have, but in the moment he feels he couldn't. He has been stopped, but never knocked out. He says go ask any fighter on a personal level if they would have rather been knocked out, or stopped it before it happened and they will tell you they wish it didn't happen.
He says thinking about the road down the line also plays a factor. He would have multiple fights signed in the span of 2 or 3 months and doesn't want to risk not being able to go ahead or be healthy for upcoming fights due to he needs every paycheck.
He also stated that he always knew his last fight, if it was a motivating fight and a challenge, will probably be his best showing due to he won't have that dear and it will be a freedom of the fight. He won't have to worry about future fights and can take the most risk he has ever took cause there will be nothing left to worry about.
What do you guys think about this? Is it smart Thinking?
