How do you argue vs this?

You get in a debate in a room full of people and the person always argues this way "only stupid people will argue with this" or "its factually proven and dumb people only argue it."

Now this person can talk and sounds correct when they debate but aren't. They get new people to believe them.

How do you debate back with them? I provide facts and they repeat the remarks. How do people fall for it?

- Demonstrate that it's not factually proven.

- Demonstrate that this can be attached to any statement, and show it's ludicrous by saying it before demonstrably intelligent or true things.
- Give an example(s) of an intelligent person who argues it.

You don't.


Part of maturing is knowing what fights to pick or walk away from.

"only stupid people will argue this" suggests their mind is already made up. Any point you make, they'll attempt to counter it rather than consider. I don't know what it is you are talking about specifically, but if you have evidence that disproves their evidence you can present it, they can choose to take it or leave it.

Well, if it could somehow be demonstrated that Bob is smart, that would invalidate the first claim (unfortunately).
 
Play devil’s advocate with your argument. And cite your source.

Have a woman argue on your behalf (women are never wrong) or know more about *physics than the other person.

If you know more about the source of all things that puts you on a higher perch to sit from.

It's actually really basic.

*Which includes a lot of statistical math.
 
This sounds like a meeting on the Graveyard shift of 7-11 assistant store managers. In my stratosphere we don't throw around stupid, moron, imbecile so freely. Its more insinuated.
 
I'm going to tell you the truth TS.

The people you are describing are morons and their arguments are easy to dismantle.

If everyone else in the room thought they came across more informed than you, you must be just as, if not more retarded.

I don't know what the debate was about but even I am convinced that you were probably wrong.
 
Depends on what the argument is about but most of the time Google can prove them wrong
