Zabit Magomedsharipov #5 FW Russia
VS
a 5 round fight absolutely necessary

I saw a lot of users on Sherdog say that this Main Event wasn't a 5 rounder because it wasn't the original main event and Zabit shouldn't have to agree to a 5 round fight on short notice.
While that may be true, lets take a look at the original Main Event.
JDS VS Volkov
That was the original Main Event. Both of those fighters were coming off a loss. When was the last time a Main Event had both fighters coming off a loss? Why would the UFC book that fight over Zabit and Kattar? You could make a guess and say that Zabits team said no because it would have been a 5 rounder. That is what my guess is. What is your guess as to why JDS and Volkov, both coming off a loss, was originally booked as Main Event.
Also he can blame his poor cardio for this fight on an infection all he wants but we have seen this to not be the case.

Alexander Volkov #7 HW Russia
VS
Curtis Blaydes #3 HW USA

Volkov Volkov Volkov. A HW point fighting machine last night. What a crap fight that was. Dude was 31-6 and couldn't put away a 5-1 fighter. Terrible. Time for Volkov to get smashed for his point fighting.

Calvin Kattar #11 FW USA
VS
Kakeem Dawodu Canada

Calvin has more lost both of his ranked fights. The UFC gave him two chances and he failed. It is time to fight a non ranked.
It could be way too early for Hakeem but it will be a good fight. Fight will be a stand up war I believe.

Magomed Ankalaev Russia
VS
Ovince St. Preux Hati/USA

You have to love Sherdog. You can go from losing to Paul Craig to being the one to challenge Jon Jones in a matter of 3 fights.
How long was Magomed in that triangle before he tapped? Seemed like an insta-tap to me. I want to put him up against someone that SUB people out of nowhere. I thought maybe Lil Nog but he is 43 and maybe that guy should retire. I did think maybe give him another stand up fighter like Alonzo Menifield but I figured maybe they can meet up at a latter date.

Anthony Rocco Martin USA
VS
Vicente Luque #13 WW Brazil

I think Martin could be a dark horse in the WW division. Since moving up to WW he is 5-1 with the loss coming from Demian Maia VIA Majority Decision.
Vicente is the more exciting fighter but his last two fights he has shown to have TERRIBLE fight IQ. He is just throwing his BJJ out the window so he can stand and bang. What Champion has TERRIBLE fight IQ? None. Vicente needs to work on that.
Martin won't be afraid to grapple. I like the fight. Most importantly though, I am very happy he beat boring point fighter Emeev. What a snooze that guy is.

Karl Roberson USA
VS
Abu Azaitar Germany

Why does Abu have 1.4 million followers on Instagram? What have I missed?
Not sure why I picked this fight.

CUTS

Rustam Khabilov
- UFC cut that one ring male for being a boring poop-bag. Why not Rustam? How many strikes did he have in that fight? How many SUB attempts did he have in that fight? How many passing attempts did he have in that fight? Screw that dude. Oh and he lost to damn Kajan Johnson but was gifted a decision because it was in Russia.

Jessica-Rose Clark 2-2 in UFC 9-6 record

Grigorii Popov 0-2 in UFC
Alexander Yakolev
3-5 UFC record
Khadis Ibragimov 0-2 in UFC. They could give him another fight since at least he isn't boring.

Luque is coming off a loss so that works. All your takes are great. Great post. Really nothing I disagree with. <mma4>

JDS vs Volkov was a HW fight
It was between higher ranked opponents
JDS is a bigger name than any of the others

If you can't wrap your mind around why JDS vs Volkov was the original main event then you are looking at it from a biased perspective. There was no consipiracy that the main event was 3 rounds. Please stop reaching.

Can you tell me the last time a Main Event had both fighters coming off a loss?
You could be looking at it from a biased perspective.

I wanna know the main event question though.

So what you wanted to say is Zabit needs to fight someone and it should be a five rounder?

I feel so enlightened! All praise TS.

You made that criteria up for main event with fighters coming off a loss. Main events are either championship fights or the more well known and higher ranked fighters. Nobody wants to see main events with unknown non top 10 fighters. Stop making shit up just to prove your stupid conspiracy theories.

I just wanna know when was the last time the UFC put on a Main Event where both fighters were coming of a loss.

Lee vs RDA 8 months ago
Thompson vs Pettis 8 months ago

I'd probably pick Nunes. At least she can knock people out. :p

I honestly want her to see how se does against a male fighter in the UFC.

:p thanks

Yeah Luque needs to work on his fighter IQ.
:p
Zabit subs Amanda in round one and I fuck with Nunes she is a great champ. I got a strange gut feeling GDR will show up in top form against Nunes.

Since you are too stubborn and arrogant to admit that it is irrelevant, here you go
Gus vs Smith, just a few months back.

Thanks. There goes the conspiracy theory.

He was a long time friend with a famous german rapper long before coming to the UFC.
That and the fact he chilled with Khabib might be the cause.

You criticize Volkov for fighting smart and using his superior reach against a power puncher with nothing to lose while Volkov himself had nothing to gain from this win and everything to lose if he got KOd in a brawl?

Yeah, ok...

What about her VS Pat Curran?
lol <6> hard for me to full Rogan. But it would be closer. Pat's most likely juiced to the gills and cuts weight. Would be great if Nunes knocked him out. I wouldn't sanction that fight still. Nunes vs Pat in a kickboxing match would be intriguing lol.
