Most thought the God Of War couldn’t go 3 rounds and only fought cans tailor made for him to beat.

But like his last fight, he showed huge improvements everywhere while managing to survive against a fighter with 40 pro fights and took the fight on short notice.

Anyone else really impressed by Hardy’s improvements in cardio, striking, and even wrestling?

1-2 years max and he’s champion. I admit I was wrong to think he wasn’t a legit top tier HW in the making.
 
I'm not sure about the champion part yet, but I agree with the rest.
 
You actually think Hardy can be the champion in 1-2 years? USADA test this man for crack
 
As much as i hate to say it but hardy has serious potential. He needs to work on his skills and game planning a lot. Im sure after being out classes by volkov like he was he will take training more serious. He has been able to get away with lack of skill and game plan because hes such a brute force. Im actually interested in his career now after watching the volkov fight. Hes very strong, athletic, durable, explosive, etc. Once his skill level matches his physical gifts hes going to do a lot of damage. The heavyweight division isnt that deep for me to think otherwise.
 
He was completely outclassed by a point fighter avoiding getting knocked out again.
This was peak Hardy, he never does any better.

He's alright but can you imagine what would happen if he faces Nganou or Stipe?
Will he ever make it as a contender or even top 5? I honestly can't see it. I'm afraid it's probably downhill from here.

Wow, did anyone really expect Volkov to finish him? He's not a hard hitter. Dude went the distance with Tim Johnson, someone who got finished in the first by Cheick Kongo.

I was surprised he survived for the decision but when Schaub had the same amount of experience he was KOing Gonzaga and Crocop as a comparison.

No way Hardy ever becomes Champ unless most of the top 10 retire.

Hardy is not even top100 ranked HW globally according to Fightmatrix. Why are we talking about him?
 
I keep hearing about this fabled power of his, but I don't see it. He has knocked out a few street level fighters but I've not seen him wobble anyone remotely decent...

Massive credit to him for being so active, fighting Volkan and testing himself, but the results are in - you failed.
 
LOL 1-2 years hes champ? Hardy has yet to even beat a top 15-20 ranked opponent in the UFC. Your goal is borderline impossible unless they let him skip all the ranks and just beat 2 guys and get a title shot (which would be retarded imo)

Ive yet to see anything from Hardy that suggests he is going to defeat multiple top ranked heavyweights and get the belt. Nothing stands out in terms of power or skill etc.
 
If Hardy hadn't busted his wrist/ hand he'd have done a lot better, the left hook was landing and Volkov was wide open for an overhand right. When Hardy actually threw it like normal it was landing fine but it was nowhere near enough. I don't think he's champ that quickly but he's definitely got a higher ceiling than people give him credit for.
