Why I don't know. But I wonder whether his experience of sparring during the early days of Stipe's career — he had him in for the fight camp for the Rothwell fight back in 2012 — has stuck in his mind too much, that he can only see him as if fixed at that stage when in reality he's advanced far beyond it. Or maybe even it's a little bit of buried jealousy that it was Stipe who forged ahead to win the belt, and not him.
