International Trump administration launches global effort to end criminalization of homosexuality

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Trump had nothing to do with this.
 
Also, this is going to be one of those things where all the world leaders get together for a photo op and agree that hanging people for being gay is bad and then nothing happens after.

From what I remember of 2016 the left said that if Trump was elected just the OPPOSITE of this would happen.
 
This initiative is meant to target Iran by reframing the administration's current hostility towards that country as being about humanitarian causes, given the problems they've been having with the nuclear weapons angle. It's transparently insincere, given the administration's historical silence on the even worse abuses in Chechnya, among other countries. Its not as if Saudi Arabia is particularly LGBT friendly. Now, if something good comes of this, great. But let's not pretend that this is more than a cynical gesture, especially in light of reduced LGBT protections by the administration.

And it's worth noting that this ties directly into the sort of intervention that TS purportedly decries.

He has systemically attacked discrimination protections for gay persons in employment and housing.


Soooo, yeah, that piece of shit can get bent. He's all for embracing discrimination when it profits his corporate backers but suddenly goes full SJW when it serves to transparently justify him war mongering.

The left never said that. He hates lots of other people but I’ve never seen anything where he talks bad about gays. Pence on the other hand.

And I serious question the idea of Trump believing he's in charge of some global police force, obviously. Does anyone really think that countries should not be able to dictate policy on this? There are religious ideas that underline these policies that will not change, bottom line.
