I mean for real. Three events this weekend and three huge let downs for the main events. All three! Which one was worse, or a bigger let down?

Mitrione vs Sergei - 15 seconds in and the first strike is a groin strike that ends the fight in a no contest.

MVP vs Daley - Labeled as one of the biggest grudge matches and was supposed to be a war ended up being a wrestling match at points and neither fighter engaging in striking when it was on the feet. Very disappointing.

Cain vs Ngannou - The return of Cain and a huge fight in the HW division and highly anticipated. Ends 26 seconds in from a confusing ending. Was is strikes? Was it Cains knee? Either way, very disappointing.

I have not seen three main events in one weekend be that disappointing in, well, forever. Thoughts?

Agreed. Lots of disappoint.

MVP/Daley was the worst. At least the other two were quick.

I agree.
Any highly anticipated fight that doesn't even last 30seconds, (whoever wins) I find a disappointment simply as there's very very few seconds of actual FIGHTING. Its all over before it really settles down.

But thats the nature of the game I suppose.

It was 4 big events.

Invicta 34 was Friday night too. The ME was a title fight for the vacant 125 lbs belt.

In the 4th round an accidental eye poke by Pearl Gonzalez sliced Vanessa Porto’s eyelid. The fight was stopped and Porto won a technical decision on the judges scorecards.

As unfortunate as it was, it was the best ME of the weekend.

WMMA embarrassed alot of male fighters this last weekend.

It wasn’t a confusing ending at all. Cain got rocked, Went limp and did the splits. Screams in pain and then was put to sleep from a ford escort hammer fist. It’s all on video for everyone to see. I know people like to troll and Ariel was triggered on twitter but you have to be stupid to think Cain wasn’t melted into oblivion.

There was nothing "confusing" about the Sunday main event. Cain got clipped by the hardest hitter in the UFC while coming in, his legs buckled, and his bum knee (AKA strikes again!) probably tore another ligament in the process.

It sucks for Cain, but his desperate fans need to stop acting like he just slipped on a banana peel.

I enjoyed mvp vs daley. I mean rounds 1 and 2 were a wash, but toward the end these guys wanted to win.

Don't forget "The Great Russian Hope" (Minakov's) very lame performance against a 43-year old Kongo. Regardless of who should've gotten the decision, it was another stinker and UFC haters saw another poster child (billed by some as "the best HW in the world!") get exposed.

Trigger warning: I guess that’s one downside of real fights compare to movies/pro-wrestling/etc...

while i agree that was a lame fight, ts is referring to only the main events of the 3 different cards.

Add all three fights together, divide them by three and you have an average of an 9 minute fight with tactical chess matches, wrestling, finishes and controversy

Hard to say

Was expecting Sergei to take Meathead's head off - instead meathead kicked him so hard in the nuts he got a hemerroid.

Daley vs mvp was too overrated strikers throwing 1 striker at a time and the biggest loud mouth (in regards to people refusing to stand with him) turns in to a panic wrestler.

And the HW who could have been the GOAT comes back after almost 3yrs off and his knee gives out in less than 30seconds.

At least there were some good fights on the undercards.

And kron slicing through bruceleeroy was cool as fuck.

I know, but I thought I'd throw that in. The last 4 fights on Bellator's Saturday card went to a decision and were boring. I don't think all decisions are boring, either. Sometimes they're back-and-forth chess matches on the feet or ground. But not those fights... Even the world's youngest and most exciting 34-year old prospect, Erick Silva, was in a snoozer.

I had a friend who actually said he liked WWE better cause you were guaranteed long interesting matches for main events

Ya it was only one fight but it had so much hype.

Can you spot the common element?

Not a great distinction to have.
