Barboza put a striking clinic on Dan Hooker, who is supposed to be a great striker as well.

Barboza fought differently than ever before, not running around in circles so much, using head movement instead, putting more power on his punches.

Look out LW division.
 
That was pretty much normal Barboza just against worse competition...He has been fighting top 5 guys for a while now.. Let's be honest Hooker is a tough guy but there is a reason he is ranked 14.

This isn't a new Barboza. This is what Barboza has been all along. Like @Azure said, it was against worse competition. Regardless though, it was a spectacular performance by Barboza and Hooker showed heart. Alot of fighters would have quit earlier than that.
 
That was an absolute clinic. Savage beating administered by Edson.
 
It's Barboza against someone who doesn't slip a jab.
 
He looked like shit. Pressure him and he crumbles. Hooker decided to pressure too late in the fight. Took too much damage before turning on the heat.
 
Barboza is a savage, Hooker is a tough as nails. 11/10 fight, but the stoppage was too late.
 
That's the same Barboza, he was busting peoples legs soon as he showed up in the UFC. His boxing gotten much better now days still he'll lose to wrestlers like Kevin and Khabib.

Love to see Barboza fight Mcgregor tho that would really test Mcgregor's striking.

He did less running, so he was able to plant with his punches. I think it might be because the camp change, not fighting like all Mark Henry fighters.
 
Im a Barboza fan but he looked normal. He has always had that body hook and amazing kicks. Best switch kick I have ever seen but he was gassed hard after a round. Many higher ranked fighters would have seen that.

I don't think it's worse competition, it's just that Hooker tried to play Barboza game (striking), he got served.

All other guys knew that's a no go.
 
Barboza always looks great against guys that don't pressure the fuck out of him, Hooker is not that kind of fighter
 
It's the same Barboza with inferior opposition. NZ needs to import more Nigerians to be competitive.

Hooker is a tough guy but this was a huge step up in competition for him.
