Has Kevin Lee ever been complementary to a fellow LW?

I've noticed a very strong trend with Kevin Lee, any time he is asked about another LW he says they aren't good, are bums, aren't elite while being ranked higher or having beaten him ect.

Has Kevin Lee ever been complementary towards a fellow LW?

It seems weird to me to trash all the other top guys in your own division becasue you might face them one day and if you win so what you beat a bum(in your own words) and if you lost it's embarrassing because you lost to someone that you said wasn't any good. It's good to trash talk some but at some point you being complementary is helpful as well.
 
He was complimentary to Ferguson after Ferg submitted him. Well, he praised Ferguson's bottom game and pace if I remember right.
 
After he beats them he is. He talked very highly of Mustafaev after choking him unconscious.
 
He was complimentary to Al Iaquinta on UFC Unfiltered but that's probably only because he was talking to one of his coaches Matt Serra.

But who cares? This is the fight game, not tennis. I hate the nicey-nice stuff where guys are overly respectful and hugging and kissing each other. Call me old school but I like when guys are motherfucking each other in interviews and mean mugging at the press conferences. I like a guy like Kevin Lee. Why talk up your opponent? It's not your job to pump his tires.

Interesting, has he ever done it before a fight? He doesn't seem to be talking trash about Al but I haven't heard him say much in terms of saying what Al is good at though(I could have missed interviews though).

I didn't say he should do the opposite of what he's doing, read the OP.
 
It's the ufc he's selling a fight. Ufc wouldn't have given him that title fight if he didnt talk.
Also he has the most wins in the LW division since he joined the ufc.
He obviously believes in himself.
He was complimentary to t ferg, just said he was a weirdo also.
 
He gives a lot of left handed complements to guys like Khabib and Conor

And Tony before Tony beat him, but now he’s very complementary of Tony
 
Lee is a bit of a jerk, but many fighters are jerks and they also need to promote fights, so hard to know what is real and what is promo BS.
 
i think kevin's been complimentary towards nate diaz.

I guess this is the main reason I'm not a fan of the way Lee promotes himself, he comes off as fake to me. I don't think he believes what he's saying half the time.
 
he definitely gave tony his due before the fight but he also called him a weirdo.. actually aside from al has he ever blatantly insulted another LW?
 
nope, hes an overconfident jackass. always has some reason why every other guy sucks or excuses for anything he ever does wrong.

I don't know about insulted but any time he talks about Khabib he really underrates him, he did the same with Dustin recently too and I think he did the same when talking about Gaethje and maybe Alvarez.
 
I don't know but Tony gave him a rather healthy slice of humble pie and Lee also has the pound for pound noodle leg cage dance. ..eva
 
Of course. He even had plenty of praise for Al in the recent interviews leading up to UFC on Fox 31. People really have a warped perception of Lee. Check out his appearance on JRE.

I'll check it out, it's just almost everytime I see a headline from an interview he's downplaying LWs that are ranked either above him or somewhere near him in the top 10.
