First Trailer for Andy Serkis' MOWGLI Starring Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch

Motion capture and live action are blended for “Mowgli,” a new, big-screen, 3D adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic The Jungle Book. The film features an impressive roster of stars under the direction of Andy Serkis. Starring Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Naomie Harris, Matthew Rhys, Jack Reynor, Eddie Marsan, Tom Hollander and Freida Pinto. Only in theaters October 19.

 
What would be really impressive is if they could make a film like this where the animals don't speak, but you can tell what they mean through facial / body expressions.
 
Is Christopher Walken gonna play a monkey again?
 
I'm sure my laughter at Shere Khan's face was not their desired reaction
 
They released a jungle book movie a few years ago

Why not just build off that one?

It's a different studio. Andy Serkis had been developing this for a long time. Disney screwed him by rushing their Jungle Book movie. This movie got its released date pushed back, and had to have its title changed.
 
I'm actually digging the more serious tone and cast, but I get really thrown off by the look of the animals when they are speaking. Like, wtf?

The 1994 jungle book did that and it was pretty good.
 
This will be a great kids movie, but I'll pass.

I feel dumb now for not doing a quick google on it.

I like serkis, but i agree with the poster that said the animals look better in the previous film.

I'll probably watch it anyways.
 
The OG Disney cartoon is the only adaptation of Jungle Book I've seen... And I think at this point it's going to stay that way.
 
..........there was just a new jungle book movie like 2 years ago. WTF is wrong with these idiots in Hollywood.
 
Jungle Book already killed it. The CGI looks loads better and the voices besides Benedict were better.
 
Kaa was one of Mowgli's best and most helpful friends.

i do love the story, so i'll probably Netflix this one day.
 
Another one? WTF? The 2016(?) one was pretty good. Not sure about the timing or reason for this.
