The thing that made Pereira unlike anyone else, was his stone face, "man of few words" persona, and his authentic 100% perpetual desire to finish in the cage.
His absolute honesty in assessing himself, his opponents, etc. also made him a breath of fresh air as a personality.
I'm actually concerned that this whole "social media shit" may ruin Pereira's uniqueness as a fighter in the spotlight.
I get the fact Pereira is trying to create interest in his brand, and generate more income for himself and his family. Can't argue with the man's desire to earn a better living for those close to him, especially when he is coming from poverty and ruins.
However, there is a certain prestige that comes with honor, and leaving the minutia to lesser beings. Pereira's persona exemplified that calm disdain ... up till recently.
I'm afraid that Pereira is sliding down the wrong path (of Conor, of Khamzat) in becoming a mouthy charlatan, rather than staying and remaining a warrior of few words.
I'd really rather see Pereira stick to authentic interviews, training videos, and interacting with fellow kickboxing and other MMA professionals ... while leave the shit-talking to lesser beings.
Thoughts?
