We all know he is the guy who decapitates ppl with one punch, but how does he set that up vs the elusive and technical Gane??

Will he try and time a leg kick to throw a bomb over the top?
Will he come out from the opening bell like a bat out of hell and try to rush Cyril like he did Rosenstruik?
Will he try and be patient and try and time something in the later rounds?
Is there something you guys think he can capitalize on??

Try to rush him seems most likely. So far Gane has not shown lethal power or devasting counterstriking so he might be able to take the chance. Ngannou is 0-3 in fights that went to a decision. I think the longer the fight goes, the more likely will be a victory for Cyril Gane.

His wrestling looked impressive against Stipe. Wouldn't shock me if he becomes a GnPer after what he showed in that fight.
Interesting. I'd be surprised if that happened. I think Gane's TDD and overall grappling is good enough to keep this standing. Plus, I think Francis did well with his grappling in the Stipe rematch because of sheer strength, which i don't think he can do with Cyril. We'll see what happens.

Francis has clearly been spending a lot of time on the mat. When Stipe got hold of the single leg Francis brought it to the outside, sprawled, took Stipes back and held him in seatbelt position and beat him over the head. You can tell he's been working on some things. Wouldn't shock me if he took Gane down. I actually favor Gane on the feet TBH.

I just don't know why he'd attempt to grapple and potentially gas himself out doing so when he has that great equalizer on the feet. I favor Gane too because of his timing, speed and technique but I'm sure Francis' team is gameplanning around him landing that mega bomb

Can you be a little more specific? When he smells blood? How will he get to that point?
Francis is good at drawing people in and hurting them with counters. Sometimes it's good to enough to end the fight. It's how he dropped Stipe and finished Overeem. There has been other guys too but I forgot their names.

Despite Francis being known as a wild brawler type who doesn't possess great technical striking. All he does is throw wild looping shots. Well this may be true to some extent but what he has is good instinct. The instinct to get away from a shot and land his own.

And he has the power to where he only needs 1. I see Gane doing really well technically in this fight. But Francis will eventually catch him and it may be all he needs.

But this should be a great fight! Quite evenly matched.

Punch Gane really really hard. I know what to expect from Francis, I'm curious on how Gane will come out, just hope he doesn't back pedal if Francis does his rush in like he did against Rosenstruik and shoot for a double or else he will probably go to sleep.

I think his gameplan will revolve around 4 points:
  1. Stalk Gane and cut the cage, have options ready to catch his lateral exits
  2. Cripple his mobility with leg kicks
  3. Create incertainty with level changes to make openings for his punches
  4. Counter when Gane moves forward

I dont think Francis would come out looking to grapple only but I could see him using his strength and new found wrestling skills to bring it down to the ground if they both miss some strikes and tie up.

Although FRanics got STipe out in RND2, I belive his way of wrestling and striking still uses a LOT of gas. He must be very aware of that.
He will probably look to counter or catch Gane on the way in/out. If he rushes too much, he'll gas 100 %.

I'm 100% sure that his gameplan includes letting him bang, bro.
