Sublime is the better band. Bradley died after their first national hit album, but in California and in many other areas sublime was known and influential well before that. People like Jack Johnson and others cite sublime as inspiration.. But 95% of people won’t know Bradley Nowell, but will know Curt Cobain.

Sublime were bad asses not afraid of anybody. Drugs suck and fk Bradley Nowell for fking us out of 3-4 more great albums, but sublime is better to listen to all day than Nirvana, and would also win the fight..

engage. Post your favorite sublime songs etc...

I watched Sublime live at Soma back in the day. Bradley was so drunk and strung out he could barely play, and Sublime was literally booed off the stage. Completely worthless show.

That sucks and sorry to hear that.

They aren't even the same genre

They were bands in the 90s that could both have been labeled alternative, and if you had any idea what you were talking about you would not have said that.

Sublime has like one good song. lol

Yeah, to an idiot. Ska and grunge sound nothing alike. "Alternative" means fucking nothing, just an edgy word to distinguish rock bands from pop.

How old are you?

In the 90s we had pantera, Dre, the breeders, biohazard, pharcyde, and led zeppelin CDs in the same section of our CD case. I don’t think you know...

Damn near every single 90's band could be labeled "alternative". It's not really a genre, but more of a one size fits all term people came up with to describe all the genre bending music coming out at the time. Nirvana is "Grunge". Sublime is mostly "Ska", although they do branch out quite a bit.

They weren't exactly in competition with each other, but Sublime is definitely the better band.

Long Beach Dub Allstars are still going strong and are a spinoff of Sublime. Had the time of my life getting snowed on in big bear on new years watching these dudes play outside with snow gloves. Epic times. The only thing Kurt and Brad had in common though is heroin and dying early. Sublime also lifted a lot of riffs from different genres/bands. They were basically sampling hip hop style but interpolating instead of taking the direct sound source. Nothing but love for them though, they are the sound of the summer here in the south bay.
