Where do you rank him among all the boxers that ever fought.

latest

I've given a lot of boxing records a very close look recently and do feel he deserves to be number 1.

I voted Top 3. But you could put him at 1 if you want. Dont know about H2H against more modern fighters, cause its simply impossible to know, but based off his achievements he has to be very close to the top if not the GOAT.

I don't know if I've ever seen someone rank him below the top 3-5. I guess the only argument that you could make for having him "just" in the top 5 would be that he lost a lot of fights towards the end of his career. I don't think he was ever stopped in 200 or so fights. The guy had it all; speed, power, a good chin but amazing recovery, combination punching, awesome footwork, heart, stamina. If he would have stayed at welterweight there would have been no doubt about his number 1 status. At middleweight he was still a champion and even in his "worst" weight class I think I'd put him in the top 10 all time. I don't think that I could find 10 middleweights with a better resume, although I really don't know much about the guys from the turn of the 20th century.

I don't think I could rank anyone above him all time. I guess there's probably an argument for a guy like Henry Armstrong or Willie Pep.

#1 imo

Few people you could rank over him, Henry Armstrong or Harry Greb maybe

My memory is hazy, but I do believe he retired once from heat exhaustion.
