Movie 1: Point Break

Synopsis: After a string of bizarre bank robberies in Southern California, with the crooks donning masks of various former presidents, a federal agent, Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves), infiltrates the suspected gang. But this is no ordinary group of robbers. They're surfers -- led by the charismatic Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) -- who are addicted to the rush of thievery. But when Utah falls in love with a female surfer, Tyler (Lori Petty), who is close to the gang, it complicates his sense of duty.

My Opinion: I really enjoyed this movie a lot. The story was great, the action was great, Keanu & Patrick were both awesome. I thought the girlfriend/love interest could have been hotter but that's neither here nor there. The only thing I didn't like was Johnny jumping out of the plane with no parachute and then pulling the chute within seconds before hitting the ground, it wasn't realistic at all. I'm also pretty sure Johnny never would have continued following Bodie since he was being arrested at the bank robbery and then his partner let him go and then his partner was killed. I don't think it would have been possible or likely he would still be a cop and he would have been in jail. All that aside I still loved the film a lot and I strongly recommend it to anyone who hasnt seen the film.

My Rating:
8/10

Have you watched The Heat? Ive been thinking of that movie recently, and might just rewatch it. One of the best movies ever. Insane cast, insane sound design, insane acting, I can just keep going and going.....

Every time Gary was on screen all I could think is

Really, I'd say he's about an average looking guy but the dude had a lot of charisma on screen, at least when he was getting real roles through to the mid-late 90s. He had a great 15 year run or so.

It was also interesting casting because he was a surfer in one of the more popular movies on the subject some years and some pounds earlier (Big Wednesday).

Bigger shout out to Tom Seizemore but I agree Gary was awesome in this. I think he was better in Lethal Weapon though.

Quotes from Swayze movies stick with me for some reason. I think partly because they're so absurd in their content and delivery. "pain don't hurt".

Any time I have to punch someone I always precede it with "I sure ain't gonna show you my dick."
