So...a little back story. It was my day off today and I ordered sandwiches for takeout. I’m a very regular person I have no stomach issues or ibs or anything like that. I eat a sandwich at 8pm and at 11pm start walking to my work because reasons. Halfway to my work my stomach starts gurgling and about 2 mins later I shit myself. No warning. Just an explosion of diarrhea filling my pants. Should I sue or pretend it never happened?

Pretty sure you can't sue, could have been for a bunch of other reasons..

The best thing to do would be to communicate to them that their food likely gave you the shits, and they might compensate you.

That’s not food poisoning, it sounds more like FBA.

maybe try a more conservative approach to the way you rent out your backside.

Food poisoning doesnt normally kick in that fast .

I've only gotten food poisoning once but from my experience 3 hours is more than enough time.

Though my result was a 2 foot diameter pool of vomit and I'd imagine that's a much faster process than explosive shits.

This. I’ve had it once and it didn’t take long to kick in.

If you werent in serious pain and misery for the next several hours, that wasnt food poisoning
Also, dont be one of those people that has one bad experience and tries to ruin a familys business over it

it would be very difficult to prove that the sandwich was the reason, and only reason for your upset stomach

also, what would you sue for, $100 to replace your clothes? Court/Attorney fees would be significantly higher leading to you losing money (hypothetical only because again, how are you going to prove it was the sandwhich)

Just gonna skip right over the part where I said "doesnt normally" eh?
Okay ........
What I was trying to say was , It may not have necessarily been from the sandwiches. If you try and report food poisoning they are going to ask you about everything you ate within the past 24 hours from the onset of your symptoms.
It isnt always the last thing you ate that actually made you sick.
