vs Kamaru will be Masvidal’s 49th.

To put it in perspective:

When Hendo fought Bisping for the Title he already had 46 fights in the books.

When Bisping fought Rockhold for the Title he already had 35 ...

Crazy to think how many different extraordinary circumstances there are surrounding this fight i.e. FightIsland, BMF, LateReplacement, ManagerBeef, PayDispute, NoCrowd, etc.

It doesn't need to be deleted, the essence of the thread is fine. Masvidal is definitely one of the latest career title shots. Just not the latest.

Horn was kind of a gimmick title shot anyway. He had a win over Liddell early in their careers and got an immediate title shot when he re-signed after years of can-crushing.

Turns out Luke was right but he wasn’t talking about number of fights although that’s what he immediately refers to after making the statement that no other fighter has earned a Title Shot later in their career than Masvidal. He was right in terms of length of time...

I assume he means first title shot, because Vitor was like 19 years into his career when he fought Weidman.
