Remember Askren's predictions about his fight with Masvidal and Woodley's fight with Usman. That said I agree with him but when Askren predicts the same thing as me it makes me nervous. I don't think they fight at UFC 251 and I hope the rebook Burns. Burns signed so just fight next month.

If Masvidal loses, Burns might still sneak in there to get his shot, then Masvidal gets another with full camp this time. That would all make sense given the current title picture at WW.

Agreed. The card is stacked, even if the MW title fight gets scrapped, so I’m sure that doesn’t help Mas with leverage.

What an odd prediction...I strongly disagree with Askren
Why would the UFC book a rematch if Jorge loses? It seems far more likely that the UFC would rebook Usman-Burns and then perhaps push for Masvidal-Colby or something like that. I don't think Jorge has nearly enough leverage to squeeze a guaranteed rematch out of the UFC for stepping in on short notice.

On a side note, I wonder how much of a factor this mental image has on any wrestler who gets locked in a cage with Gamebred.
Not just talking about the flush knee Askren ate, but also the super-necessary follow-up shots. Brutal.
I mean, there are many ways to get in on a TD, but Masvidal has KOed guys with a knee, an elbow, a punch and a high kick. He is far from a one trick pony.

According to Helwani, the fight is signed, so it’s now just about passing tests, making weight and other such technicalities.

Not much really, just don’t be so entirely one dimensional as Askren and you’ll be fine. That’s easy to say from an armchair, but I suspect that fighters are not so cavalier about being sent into dreamland, then having their head dribbled off the canvas a couple of times.
