Basically it's because secondary sexual characteristics, which display sexual dimorphism but aren't strictly necessary like primary characteristics ovaries/testes, are costly to develop and maintain. For example a peacock with beautiful feathers impresses females, however it makes it more likely to be noticed and killed by predators. So the assumption here is that if an organism can afford to maintain superior secondary sexual characteristics, this implies the organism is of higher quality because they can handle the higher costs e.g. the beautiful peacock is agile and can evade predators. Hence why well-developed secondary sexual characteristics are attractive, they denote mate quality.

I couldn't tell you what the trade-off for boobs are specifically, but that's the gist of the concept. I'm sure you could look it up if you were that determined. On top of my head maybe women with higher levels of estrogen have bigger boobs, however this influences their behaviour and makes them more agreeable and less competitive, less capable of finding resources on their own, more emotionally unstable, etc. That's probably not correct, but you get the idea.

Don't do that. Real always looks better than fake no matter what the size.

The only women that look better after implants are the ones that had mastectomies. But if you still have boobs then they are already better than implants.

They're lopsided due to surgery, I'm not thinking about it for cosmetic reasons really. The one that was operated on looks in better shape than the healthy one but I would like to not look in the mirror and not be reminded of a not particularly nice time.

Well not that my opinion matters but I guess that's a good reason. As long as you don't let them talk you into going 2 sizes up from what you're asking for.

They always have this line "I know you're asking for a C, but really you should go with D, because most women come in for a 2nd surgery after they decide to go even bigger. You may just want to get it all done in one fell swoop."
