Life and Death wise, i think the fighters will recover just fine.

But the virus really f*ucks up your respiratory system. I think it will take a while for them to shake it, to be able to perform at an elite level.
If Burns jumps straight back into a title match, he will struggle i reckon

Depends on what strain they contract....if its the mutated, Chinese government bio weapon, then they are fucked....but if they get the Chinese knockoff of the Chinese knockoff, their lungs will be just fiiiine lol

What is the % of people who have long lasting effects after recovery vs those who recover just fine?

I was under the assumption that most people recover to 100% and its a small amount of people who have long term complications.

Sherdog is very right wing. You're not going to get someone that gives you a fair analysis on this site.

I personally think if they recover, it may take a month or so to get back to peak condition shape and be fully recovered. But as far as long term indications, no one knows yet. This virus isn't that old. Its only been here for 7 , almost eight months.

he's asymptomatic isn't he? He's not even affected by it.

It's probably hard to find data for that. Best data would probably come from countries that have had it under control like New Zealand and South Korea as far as death rate and long term effects on survivors.

Has any fighter fought since getting the diagnosis ?
The only other fighter I know that tested positive was Souza, and he hasn't fought yet.

What a shit show.

Who would have thought that in 2020, 6 months deep into a pandemic we still barely know anything about this virus?

We have no idea why some people are asymptomatic while others are severely affected. No idea whether there is immunity to it and how long it lasts. No type of medicine to treat it like tamiflu for the swine flu.

It's novel so not a lot will be known as far as anything really especially just being 6 months into it.

I mean, that's standard. This virus is not going to tell us what it can and cannot do. It takes years to study a disease and years to find a treatment/cure for one.
