Magomed Mustafaev vs. Rafael Fiziev

Round 1

The first fight of the night is a lightweight bout between Magomed Mustafaev and Rafael Fiziev. The referee is Vyacheslav Kiselev. They touch gloves and the fight begins. Mustafaev connects on a spinning back kick right away that briefly knocks Fiziev to the mat. Mustafaev with a low kick, and Fiziev returns with one of his own. Out of nowhere Mustafaev lands a spinning back kick to the face of Fiziev and he’s down! Mustafaev jumps down and starts pounding Fiziev with punches, and the ref jumps in and stops the fight. Incredible knockout to start the night! On replay, Fiziev had his guard up but the kick still knocked him out. That’s an impressive win by Mustafaev, and a great way to start the card.

Gadzhimurad Antigulov vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk

Round 1

Up next is a light heavyweight bout between Gadzhimurad Antigulov and Michal Oleksiejczuk. The referee is Leon Roberts. Antigulov pushes forward and lands a sharp straight right off the bat. He chases a double leg takedown but Oleksiejczuk moves away. Antigulov moves in again and Oleksiejczuk lands a left hook. Antigulov gets up and Oleksiejczuk lands a left uppercut that drops him. Antigulov gets up and continues to push forward with his hands down. Oleksiejczuk lands a right hook that knocks Antigulov to the mat, he lands a left uppercut right before he hits the mat, and he lands some finishing punches on the ground before the referee runs in and stops it. That was quick. Great win for Oleksiejczuk.

Round 1

It’s time for the heavyweights as Shamil Abdurakhimov takes on Marcin Tybura. The referee is Herb Dean. They touch gloves and the fight begins. Abdurakhimov with a straight right to the body. Abdurakhimov with a left hook. Abdurakhimov with a straight right and a left hook behind it. Tybura with a right uppercut. A right hook by Tybura lands. Abdurakhimov with a low kick. Jab by Abdurakhimov, who follows it up with a right uppercut. Abdurakhimov with a jab. He is looking really good on the feet so far. Abdurakhimov with a low kick. Abdurakhimov with a straight right. Tybura with a jab. Abdurakhimov with a straight right to the body but Tybura takes his legs out from under him with a low kick. Another straight right by Abdurakhimov. Left hook by Abdurakhimov. Now Abdurakhimov lands a right uppercut. He looks great so far. Tybura with a jab. Front kick by Tybura. Looping overhand right by Abdurakhimov. Now a right hook by Abdurakhimov. Tybura lands a kick to the body. Overhand right by Tybura misses. Another left hook by Abdurakhimov. He misses a spinning back fist. Overhand right by Abdurakhimov. Jab by Abdurakhimov. Another uppercut by Abdurakhimov. What a great first round for him.

Round 2

Round two begins. Straight right by Abdurakhimov. Tybura misses with a long lead right. Abdurakhimov with a whipping overhand right. He lands another straight right. Tybura nearly lands a head kick but Abdurakhimov ducks down and briefly gets a double leg takedown before Tybura stands back up. Abdurakhimov with another right uppercut. He level changes for a single leg but Tybura defends it. Abdurakhimov with a spinning back fist that lands. Tybura nearly lands another leg kick but Abdurakhimov ducks under for a single leg, which Tybura defends nicely. Abdurakhimov with a jab and then a straight right. Abdurakhimov with a brutal left hook and Tybura is stunned badly and stumbles backwards towards the cage. Abdurakhimov moves forward and starts landing heavy left hooks and right hooks while Tybura is rocked badly up against the fence. A few punches later Tybura falls to the mat and Herb Dean steps in and stops the fight. Great win for Abdurakhimov.

Alexander Yakovlev vs. Alex da Silva Coelho

Round 1

It’s time for the lightweights as Alexander Yakovlev takes on Alex da Silva Coelho. The referee is Marc Goddard. They touch gloves. Coelho starts with a high kick that glances off of Yakovlev. Coelho with a left hook. A hard body kick by Coelho lands. Yakovlev with a low kick and Coelho returns with one of his own. Yakovlev grabs a hold of his opponent and shoves him against the cage. No action happens and they break. Coelho with another left hook that just misses. Yakovlev changes levels for a body lock takedown but Coelho catches him with the whizzer and defends it nicely. Yakovlev gets back to his feet but Coelho has a body lock takedown of his own and gets it. Now Coelho is on top of Yakovlev on the mat. Coelho transitions to take the back of Yakovlev but Yakovlev sweeps him and gets on top. Coelho scrambles himself and they are fighting for top control on the mat. They stand up and Coelho grabs hold of a single leg and pushes Yakovlev against the cage. Yakovlev switches positions. Now Coelho switches positions and is fishing for a double leg takedown. There’s not enough time left in the round for him to complete the takedown and the round is over.

Round 2

Round two begins. Yakovlev misses landing a kick and he falls to the mat, with Coelho immediately jumping into his guard. Coelho moves into full mount and is looking for an arm-triangle choke. Yakovlev is able to defend and escapes from full mount. Yakovlev gets back to his feet but Coelho still has a hold of his neck. Yakovlev grabs hold of a double leg takedown and lands it. Coelho gets up quickly and continues to hold Yakovlev up against the cage. He is deep on a double leg takedown but Yakovlev is defending it nicely. Coelho switches to a single leg and Yakovlev is landing some hard elbows to Coelho’s head against the fence. Yakovlev stuffs it and has a hold of da Silva’s head. He is fishing for a front choke and it’s tight, forcing Coelho to tap. Great win for Yakovlev.

Sultan Aliev vs. Keita Nakamura

Round 1

Up next is a welterweight bout between Keita Nakamura and Sultan Aliev. The official in charge of the action is Leon Roberts. They touch gloves. Nakamura with a body kick right away. Aliev with the jab which knocks the mouthpiece out of Nakamura’s mouth. The referee calls time and he puts it back in. They exchange jabs. Another jab by Aliev, and then one by Nakamura. Big right hook by Aliev lands. Jab by Nakamura. Body kick by Nakamura. He lands a right hook and Aliev returns with a straight right of his own. Jab by Nakamura. Body kick by Nakamura. Straight right by Aliev that rocks Nakamura. He moves in and lands a right hook. He slams him to the ground but Nakamura quickly gets up. Nakamura with a judo toss from the clinch but Aliev sweeps him and they are back on their feet clinching along the fence. Aliev completes a double leg takedown. Nakamura gets back up to his feet. Aliev continues to push him along the fence. Nakamura turns him around. Aliev lands a right uppercut on the break. They clinch up once again. Aliev continues pushing Nakamura into the fence until the end of the round.

Nakamura pushes forward with his jab but he needs a finish. Nakamura with a head kick. Aliev looks to be tired but there isn’t much time left. Round 1

They don’t touch gloves and both men take the center of the Octagon right away. Choi with a left hook and then a front kick. Choi with a low kick and Evloev with a counter left hook. Choi just misses landing a head kick. Huge lead uppercut by Evloev lands but Choi just smiles at him. Overhand right by Evloev. Choi with a jab. Evloev rushes in for a double leg takedown and gets it. Evloev moves into side control. Choi regains his guard. Evloev is doing a great job of staying strong and top and landing effective ground and pound. He briefly passes the guard but Choi regains it. Choi gets back up but Evloev shoves him against the fence and continues to work his dirty boxing from the clinch. Evloev lands a powerful slam but Choi gets up. Evloev with a trip takedown and he continues to land strikes on Choi until the round ends.

Round 2

Round two begins. They touch gloves this time. Choi with a front kick. Evloev returns with a hard low kick. Left hook by Choi. Evloev just misses landing an overhand right but pushes forward and forces Choi to the mat. Choi gets back up but Evloev continues to shove him against the cage. Evloev gets the double leg takedown but Choi gets back up. Evloev throws him to the mat again but Choi gets back up. Choi is landing some hard elbows to the back of the head of Evloev but Evloev lands the double leg takedown anyways. Evloev is shoving Choi against the fence and lands some nice punches and then unfortunately lands an illegal knee to the head of the downed Choi. The referee pauses the fight for the illegal blow and the referee takes one point from Evloev. They restart the fight in the center of the cage. Evloev with a spinning back elbow that just misses. Evloev pushes forward and changes levels for a single leg takedown once again. Evloev lands a knee to the head of Choi that is legal this time. Evloev continues pushing Choi against the fence until the end of the round.

Round three begins. They touch gloves. Evloev changes levels and immediately lands an explosive double leg takedown. Choi manages to scramble out of it but Evloev continues to shove him against bottom of the cage. Evloev looks for a throw but Choi counters it. Evloev pushes him back against the fence and Choi lands some hard elbows to his head. Evloev shoves Choi against the cage. He is peppering him with heavy punches to the head but Choi gets back to his feet. Evloev completes a single leg takedown and continues to hold Choi against the cage. Finally Choi is able to escape. But once again Evloev changes levels and shoves Choi against the cage. He continues to stick to Choi like glue and lands a single leg takedown. Choi gets back to his feet but Evloev continues to hold him. More knees and punches by Evloev until the round and fight are over.

Modafferi with another straight right. Shevchenko lands a head kick but Modafferi press forward and clinches Shevchenko against the cage. Modafferi is looking for a single leg takedown and completes it. Shevchenko is able to get back to her feet but Modafferi continues to press her against the fence and lands a trip takedown. Modafferi is on top in full mount now. She lands some ground and pound from the top until the bell rings to end the round.

Round three begins and Shevchenko absolutely needs a finish to avoid the upset loss. Shevchenko moves forward and lands a straight left and then a kick to the body. Shevchenko with another hard straight left. She lands a right hook and is finally finding some success on the feet. Body kick b Shevchenko. Another straight left. She lands another kick to the body but Modafferi grabs a hold of her leg and takes her down. Modafferi is working to take the back of Shevchenko now. But Shevchenko reverses her and ends up on top in full guard. Modafferi is able to sweep Shevchenko and end up on top in full mount. Modafferi lands some heavy punches from the top. Shevchenko is able to reverse the position and wind up on top. They are back to their feet. Modafferi continues to hold on to Shevchenko and shove her up against the cage. Shevchenko with a hard knee to the head from the clinch but Modafferi continues to stick to her like glue. Shevchenko with a hard knee to the body but Modafferi takes her to the ground with a body lock takedown. She lands in the full guard of Shevchenko and the fight is over.

Pavlovich with a straight right. Golm with a straight right of his own. Pavlovich with the jab. Pavlovich lands a left hook and then a right hook behind it. He has Golm up against the fence and lands another uppercut and Golm is down . The referee jumps into stop the fight before any more damage is done and Pavlovich gets his first UFC victory in very impressive fashion.

Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan

Round 1

It’s now time for the co-main event, a lightweight bout between Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan. The referee is Herb Dean. They touch gloves. Tsarukyan begins to work off his jab right away. Tsarukyan attempts a spinning back fist but slips and Makhachev clinches him against the fence. Tsarukyan reverses him and is looking for a single leg takedown along the fence. Makhachev defends it well and reverses it back. Tsarukyan lands a knee to the body from the clinch and Makhachev trips him to the ground and lands in full mount. Tsarukyan is able to scramble out and get back to his feet but Makhachev continues to hold onto his neck. Makhachev rolls down for a guillotine choke but Tsarukyan gets out of it. They’re back on the feet and Tsarukyan is now looking for the guillotine but Makhachev gets out of it. Tsarukyan reverses the clinch along the cage and lands a body lock takedown. Tsarukyan continues to hold onto Makhachev, but he’s able to get back to his feet. They exchange knees in the clinch. They break. Tsarukyan with a straight right. He changes levels and is looking for a single leg takedown but Makhachev defends it before the round is over.

Low kick by Tsarukyan. Now Tsarukyan lands a head kick but Makhachev eats it. Tsarukyan changes levels for a double leg once again but Tsarukyan stuffs it. They are now in the clinch exchanging knees and Makhachev gets a trip takedown briefly. Tsarukyan gets back up and Makhachev continues to press him against the fence. Tsarukyan gets a single leg takedown but Tsarukyan is working for a kimura. Makhachev moves into side control now but Tsarukyan manages to get back to his feet once again. Now Tsarukyan is working for a single leg takedown of his own. Makhachev reverses him and is pushing Tsarukyan against the fence until the end of the second round.

He changes levels for a double leg takedown but Makhachev defends it once again. They’re back in the clinch and Makhachev changes levels and completes a double leg takedown of his own. Tsarukyan gets back to his feet but Makhachev continues to hold him against the fence. This time Makhachev lands a body lock takedown and ends up on top. Tsarukyan gets Makhachev into his guard but he looks exhausted. Makhachev continues to hold Tsarukyan down on the mat until the end of the round, and those last couple takedowns should seal the decision for him.

Oleynik grabs hold of Overeem but Overeem lands a counter knee to the body. Oleynik lands some heavy punches to the body of Overeem. They break. Another knee to the body by Overeem. Oleynik with another overhand right on Overeem against the fence. They break again. Oleynik with a left hook and once again he pushes Overeem against the fence. Overeem reverses position lands a knee to the head of Oleynik. He lands a knee to the body and Oleynik reverses it again. They break. Oleynik with a right hook to the body and he pushes him against the cage again. Overeem with another knee to the face from the clinch. He turns around and lands a hard knee to the body. They break and Overeem lands another knee to the body. Oleynik closes the distance and pushes Overeem against the fence once again, landing some nice punches to the body. Overeem gets Oleynik in the clinch and then lands a hard knee to the body and Oleynik falls to the mat. Overeem starts to blast away at the head of Oleynik with heavy punches and elbows and referee Marc Goddard warns him to defend himself. Overeem keeps up the punishment and the referee jumps in and stops the fight. Great win for Overeem.
