Manchester United 'reject swap deals for Mauro Icardi or Radja Nainggolan' as Inter Milan hunt for Romelu Lukaku

  • Manchester United are only interested in a cash deal for Romelu Lukaku
  • They want to recoup as much of the £75m they paid for him as possible
  • United not interested in Inter Milan's offer of a player exchange plus cash deal

Manchester United would reportedly prefer a fee of £80million for Romelu Lukaku, instead of a player exchange deal.

They have rejected Inter Milan's offer to swap the Belgian striker for Mauro Icardi or Radja Nainggolan plus cash, according to ESPN.

The Italian giants proposed the deal in order to reduced the cost of Lukaku's transfer.

But having paid £75million for the 26-year-old just two years ago, United are determined to recoup as much of that outlay as possible.

Lukaku hit form early on at Old Trafford after joining from Everton but struggled in his second season.

Marcus Rashford became first-choice under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the sacking of Jose Mourinho last December.

Lukaku scored just 15 times in 45 appearances and his burly physique may not suit the style of play under the Norwegian.
