Napoli are eyeing up a move for Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier as Carlo Ancelotti plans a summer revamp following his side's disappointing season.

The Serie A giants have fallen way behind league leaders Juventus and were knocked out of the Europa League quarter-finals by Arsenal on Thursday night.

Ancelotti, still in his first season in charge at the Stadio San Paolo, has now turned his attention to next season and wants Trippier to bolster his ranks.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Ancelotti wants to strengthen his options at full back and have made an enquiry for Trippier.

The 28-year-old starred for England in their run to the World Cup semi-finals last summer but has failed to replicate that form for Spurs this season and has shared the role with Serge Aurier.

Spurs want to wait until the end of the season before they consider opening negotiations for one of their key players.

Napoli are currently well-stocked at right back though with Elseid Hysaj and promising youngster Kevin Malcuit already in place.

There’s also interest from Manchester United in Trippier as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen on the right side of his defence also.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will consider an upgrade at right back if buyers for Trippier and Aurier can be found, with up-and-coming Crystal Palace player Aaron Wan-Bissaka one possibility.

Trippier has made 33 appearances for Spurs this season and has represented his country 16 times.
