Barcelona 'weighing up huge £58m bid' from Chinese Super League club for out-of-favour forward Malcom

  • Barcelona signed forward Malcom from Bordeaux last summer for £37million
  • They are now weighing up a huge £58m bid from a Chinese Super League club
  • Malcom has found game-time hard to come by under Ernesto Valverde this year
  • Player and his representatives are keen to keep quiet regarding a potential exit

Barcelona are 'weighing up a huge £58million bid' from a Chinese Super League club for young striker Malcom.

The 21-year-old only arrived at the Nou Camp from Bordeaux in the summer, but Barcelona are likely to consider any offers given his lack of football and the chance of making a big profit on a player they signed for £37m.

AS report that there are several Chinese sides who are keen on the player, while Malcom and his representatives are keen to keep quiet regarding any potential move.

He has only played 296 minutes across the league, domestic cups and Champions League so far this season, with boss Ernesto Valverde opting to put his faith elsewhere.

There was a positive moment last week, though, when the youngster netted in the club's 4-1 Copa del Rey victory over minnows Cultural Leonesa.

He has played in nine different matches for Barcelona this season, but has only enjoyed one La Liga start and is keen to up his minutes in 2019.

That may mean he has to look elsewhere, be it on loan or on a permanent basis.

Barcelona have a history of negotiating with Chinese clubs, having bought Paulinho from Guangzhou Evergrande, before loaning him back in the summer.

It has been reported that the two clubs are still in negotiations, with Paulinho's loan move likely to become permanent.
