Aston Villa entered the break fourth in the Championship and heading for the play-offs.

They sit seven points behind second-placed Cardiff City, who have a game in hand on Steve Bruce's side.

Villa, though, are well-placed to keep alive their dreams of promotion back to the Premier League for next season.

They sit seven points ahead of nearest challengers Derby County and Middlesbrough.
