  • Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel is under pressure in his current roleĀ Ā

Mauricio Pochettino could find the prospect of replacing Thomas Tuchel as Paris Saint-Germain boss 'very interesting',Ā according to reports.Ā

The former Tottenham manager is still without a club having parted company with the Premier League side last year, with the Argentine biding his time for the perfect project.

Both Real Madrid and Manchester United have both been linked with the 48-year-old, with Zinedine Zidane and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer both in uncertain positions at the helms of their respective clubs.Ā

However, it is another of Europe's top managers that appears closer to the brink, and could free up a position that would tug at the heartstrings of Pochettino.Ā

Thomas Tuchel has endured a difficult start to his third season in charge at the Parc des Princes, and could find himself out of a job before the end of the year.

Victory over Manchester United on Wednesday night went some way to giving the German breathing space, but failure to turn that win into qualification for the latter stages of the Champions League could prove curtains for the former Borussia Dortmund boss.Ā

And if the role were to become available, French football expert Julien Laurens reckons Pochettino would find it hard to turn it down.Ā

'Pochettino has been very clever in the way that he's waiting,' he told talkSPORT.Ā  'He could have gone back to management very early on but he waited. He really wanted to get the right project and the right club.

'Real Madrid would be interesting for him, we know how close he is to Florentino Perez.

'But he has really good ties with PSG, he was their player, their captain, and he loves Paris as a city and a football club.

'That could be very interesting , I think it's a very attractive club for any manager.

'I think Manchester United is still in the back of his mind, because maybe Ole Gunnar Solkskjaer has lasted longer than all of us expected, but certainly he [Pochettino] would be high on their list.'

Reports on Wednesday claimed that Real Madrid are increasingly keen on bringing in Pochettino to replace Zinedine Zidane.

The Frenchman is under sever pressure, with poor domestic form compounded by the fact they are in real danger of missing out on qualification for the last-16 of the Champions League.Ā

A 2-0 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk has left their European participation in the balance, but after the shock defeat, Zidane stated: ''I feel strong and I am going to keep giving everything as always.

Ā 'I am not going to resign. This is a difficult moment but we have to show our pride and our character.'
