  • Brooklyn Nets center Jarrett Allen pulled off one of the blocks of the year when he stuffed a LeBron James dunk attempt at the rim.
  • According to ESPN, Allen's block was just the ninth of James' 1,850 career dunk attempts.
  • James admitted after the game that Allen's age advantage played a part in denying James.

Brooklyn Nets center Jarrett Allen joined an exclusive group on Tuesday when he emphatically said "no" to a LeBron James dunk attempt.

In the first quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers' visit in Brooklyn, James steamed down the lane, hoping to throw down a dunk on Allen.

Instead, Allen met James at the rim, throwing his dunk back in one of the most spectacular blocks of the year.

According to ESPN, James has attempted 1,850 dunks in his career and only nine of them have been blocked.

After the game, Allen said, "I'm on the list forever now," calling James a "helluva player."

James said: "He's in his 20s; I'm in my 30s. It takes me a little longer to get warmed up. But that's fine. I mean, you're a shot-blocker. You should, you can, get a block. It happens. It's probably all over social media, so that's cool."

Some incredible images came from the play:

Perhaps Allen was just trying to get payback from last year when James dunked on Joe Harris and several Nets.

The Nets held on for the win over the Lakers, 115-110.
