This appears to be a scam?

After providing my email address, I am sent a JSON true result (in the browser).

Then I get the confirmation email and click to confirm, whereby I am sent to an incorrectly rendered page with a link to download the "database". Clicking that link sends me to a gumroad custom 404 page.


Look at the poster's history. It's littered with the exact same content over various domains that are all now 404'd. Suspicious.


Way too much emojis to be trustworthy, just like a LinkedIn publication


I don't know what this mostly empty page is doing but just having it open is using so much cpu time that my fans need to ramp up. I'm not inclined to browse more than that one page.


This is interesting but seems to not be a "database". This is a newsletter with links to other's stories. Is there any way to access this in a database-way, not a newsletter-way?


Such a clear landing page. I gave them my email address before I realised what was happening.
