Zodiac signs are the sun signs in astrology; it's the core of who you are and what your personality is like. Whether you believe in astrology or think it’s all a sham, astrology has an enticing look at what we go and believe in, so of course it makes sense to apply that same logic to our favorite video game characters. The Witcher is one of my personal favorite series, and so it only made me wonder what the astrology signs of those characters would be.

With The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Complete Edition out this week on Nintendo Switch, I thought it would be a good idea to share twelve characters from The Witcher and what their zodiac signs are, from fiery Aries to emotional Pisces.

Triss Merigold: Aries

Mage, advisor of kings, alchemist, and a natural-born leader, her red hair isn't the only reason that I am pairing her with the fiery Aries, first of the zodiac signs (and personally one of my favorite fire signs). An Aries has relentless ambition, which is something Triss shows all the time. Being uncomplicated and direct with her approach, Triss is not afraid to go after who or what she wants.

Aries lead with blind optimism, and if you know Triss at all, you know she's ready to make the world a better place and assisting in any way she can. But, don't take her optimism for weakness. This woman had each one of her fingernails ripped off, and that didn't slow her down one bit.

CD Projekt Red, CDProjekt Red, Henry Cavill, Netflix, Nintendo Switch, PC, Podcast, PS4, Switch, The Witcher, The Witcher 3, the witcher 3: wild hunt, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, Vesemir, witcher, Xbox One

Vesemir: Taurus

Vesemir's past isn't an open book, and unfortunately, we don't have a lot of information about the older witcher. What we do know is that Vesemir is one of the oldest and most experienced witchers that lived at Kaer Morhen, who also appeared to be a sort of father figure to Geralt.

Vesemir is a Taurus because of balance, ambition, focus, and resilience. Taureans are consistent, reliable, and you can always depend on them to maintain systems; which makes sense as to why Vesemir ran a tight ship during his time at Kaer Morhen.

Dijkstra: Gemini

Sigismund Dijkstra is an intelligent spy who has a high influence in the city of Redania. Dijkstra fits the Gemini profile because he guides the change and transformation he wants to see. He's a fearless thinker that has a progressive vision of the world.

Geminis are the twin of the zodiac, which has earned them the name “two-face.” This fits Dijkstra's personality because if you think he's helping you, he can switch in an instant and act like it never happened.

Keira Metz: Cancer

Another character I started liking but easily had my mind changed by her behavior. Keira Metz went into hiding because of witch hunters; she's disguised herself as a backwoods witch in The Witcher 3 to keep herself safe, but she doesn't like the country life too much.

Shielded by hard external shells, Cancers keep themselves protected from all situations. Keira can sometimes come off as cold, but with time their gentle, compassionate, and genuine nature shines through.

Dandelion: Leo

No other zodiac sign suits Dandelion as well as Leo. Have you ever had an extra friend that always did the most no matter what you did, and had a dramatic personality?

Dandelion lives for the drama because without it life would be boring for him. Now, I'm not saying all Leos are this way, but in Dandelion's case, life on the edge is more exciting. Dandelion's love for colorful clothing, lavish parties, and the finer things in life make him a Leo, 100%.

Philippa Eilhart: Virgo

Oh, Philippa, a character who I have a love-hate relationship with. A former advisor to the late king Vizimir and also a former member of the Lodge of Sorceress, Philippa is fueled by vengeance after king Radovid took her eyes out. Philippa is cool, calculated, and hyper-aware of every single detail, and she was this way before she was tortured.

A true Virgo queen at her finest, Philipa has the compassion to those she cares about, but unfortunately, she became cold with the loss of her sight.

Lambert: Libra

Lambert can be a bit snarky, cold, calculated, and balanced, although he has some childhood trauma to work through and with good reason. He might come off as mean, but under that tough immature exterior is a person who craves balance.

Lucky for Lambert, he can navigate any social situation by turning on his charm, because he's a true Libra.

The Witcher

Yennefer: Scorpio

Out of all the zodiac signs, I picked this one for Yennefer with good reason. Scorpios are always calculating to be several steps ahead of the game, and Yennefer's personality reflects that.

Scorpio is also ruled by Pluto the planet of transformation and destruction. Because of this, Yennefer can have enticing energy about her on a good day, but on a bad day, her shadowy side can fuel her exhausting desire to control.

The Witcher

Emhyr var Emreis: Sagittarius

I don't hate many characters in The Witcher 3, but Emhyr is one I can't stand. That's not the reason I think he's a Sagittarius; unfortunately, Sagittarius is considered to be psychotic, and while I don't think all Sagittarius are like this, Emhyr fits that perfectly.

Emhyr is the emperor of Nilfgaard, also known as “The White Flame Dancing on the Barrows of his Enemies.” He's also the father of Ciri, and now I understand why she ran away. I mean, wouldn't you with a father like that?

A Sagittarius is known to be deep-rooted in their desire to change, and while that sounds good, there's also a motive. Emhyr might want Geralt to get his daughter back, but it's not for her good.

The Witcher

Vernon Roche: Capricorn

Vernon was the commander of The Blue Stripes, a special force of the Temerian military and a true Capricorn. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn: because of this, there can be some tough lessons to learn. Vernon's had a tough childhood growing up, and he believes if not for King Foltest, he wouldn't have done anything with his life.

Ambitious, practical, and disciplined, Vernon has proved more than once that he can lead an army, which makes him perfectly suited as a Capricorn.

The Witcher

Geralt: Aquarius

I couldn't help but start with the star of the game when I was writing this, as he is personally one of my favorite characters. Geralt is an Aquarius without question; he's reserved and also aloof. An Aquarius can come off as cold while rocking a nonconformist attitude: they can stand alone; not compromising their ideals, freedom, or morals for anyone. When an Aquarius falls in love--and with this case, it's Geralt--they fall hard. If you played the games or read the books, you witnessed this first hand.

Geralt is also a bit of a weirdo, which is why I felt that he resonates with Aquarius more than any other zodiac sign. From his quirky responses to his cool demeanor, only those who get close enough to Geralt know the real him, and that makes him a true Aquarius.

The Witcher

Ciri: Pisces

Ciri has gone through a lot in life: her father is Emperor Emhyr var Emreis, and she is the heir to a throne that she doesn't want. Not your typical princess, Ciri has powerful elder blood that grants her powerful magical abilities.

The reason that Ciri relates to Pisces is because of her empathetic, compassionate, and physical nature. Pisces are emotionally sensitive because of this, and theys can easily succumb to their emotions. Another personality trait for Pisces is that they're always running away from their problems. Unfortunately for Ciri, it's easier for her to disappear rather than confront her issues. She does this because she doesn't want to see her loved ones get hurt, but she's doing more harm than good.

I hope you all enjoyed my take on all 12 of these unique zodiac signs and their pairing with these amazing characters. Even if you don't believe in astrology or know your own zodiac sign, I hope you had fun reading this and check out The Witcher 3 for Nintendo Switch (or otherwise, because it's an amazing game). Also, don't forget about the Netflix series dropping later this year, starring Henry Cavill.
