Over the past week or two, multiple rumors have started to pop up claiming that Sony's upcoming PS5 will be more powerful when compared to Microsoft's Xbox Scarlett when both consoles end up hitting the market. While none of these rumors can be verified at the moment, some have taken the rumors as truth with nothing much to go off of. Now, one prominent developer in the industry has spoken out about this conversation with a message of his own.Recently over on Twitter, Mortal Kombat 11 director Ed Boon stated that it's basically impossible for anyone to know at the moment whether PS5 or Xbox Scarlett will be more powerful than the other once both platforms launch. "How can anyone confidently make either statement without having worked on the final hardware for each?" Boon asked.Boon definitely has a point, as both Scarlett and PS5 are likely over a year away from releasing, at least from what we know at the moment. As such, both consoles haven't been finalized whatsoever. Even if developers are working on games for each platform, the dev kits that they're working with are still surely in flux. Boon, as a developer himself, essentially confirms as much in this tweet. So which will be more powerful: PS5 or Xbox Scarlett? Well, we still don't know. But as the months go on and both Sony and Microsoft begin talking about their respective platforms more, we'll surely begin to find out how each is internally constructed. From what we know so far though, they both sound pretty darn similar.
