The Metal Gear Solid news mill has been working overtime, meaning it was inevitable that we start hearing some rumors as well, although this one was pretty unexpected. The original Metal Gear Solid, the one that features Solid Snake creeping across Shadow Moses Island, is reportedly being remade completely and will be console-exclusive to the PS5 when it launches.

The rumored return to Shadow Moses originated from a video by YouTuber RedGamingTech. In this video, the YouTuber reiterates other rumors we've heard recently - namely that Metal Gear Solid and will be returning to PC at some point. However, the real surprise comes when he says that he "knew about Metal Gear Solid" and that the game would be coming to both the PS5 and PC. RedGamingTech says that this information was verified by two other sources, who confirmed that this remake of Metal Gear Solid at least exists.

RedGamingTech also claims that Metal Gear re-releases won't stop at the series' first two entries. Apparently, new versions of Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4 are being worked on, although they won't be remastered in the same way Metal Gear Solid 1 supposedly is. Instead, they'll receive the same treatment as Metal Gear Solid 2, something more akin to an HD remake. It's also not clear whether these remastered titles will be exclusive to PS5 or if they'll jump to PC and the Xbox Series X as well.

The past few days mark the first time we've heard any Metal Gear Solid news since the release of Metal Gear Survive, Konami's first failed foray into the series post-Kojima. While everything regarding the possibility of Metal Gear Solid remakes and remasters needs to be taken with a grain of salt, it's equally important to keep in mind that Kojima will likely not be involved in these games whatsoever should they be confirmed by Konami.
