The NPD Group has announced that Nintendo Switch is the fastest-selling console of the current generation in North America.

Ninty's hybrid platform launched in March 2017, and as of November this year has moved 8.7 million units in the US. This was enough to push the console ahead of any other competing hardware in the country this year, which is nothing to turn your nose at.

Furthermore, dollar and hardware sales for the Big N have reached their highest since 2011, a year that saw the launch of the 3DS.

That's not all, either. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has managed to sell over a staggering three million copies in the US in just 11 days, while Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have moved five million and four million, respectively.
