Zimbabwe’s ruling ZANU-PF under pressure to fix the economy

The party is holding its first annual conference since the army deposed Robert Mugabe, to discuss economy and factionalism.

Zimbabweans who are struggling to get by are hoping for some answers from the ruling ZANU-PF party, which is holding its first annual conference since the army deposed Robert Mugabe.

The country is struggling with shortages and price increases and Mugabe’s successor, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, is under growing pressure to turn the economy around.

But the agenda of the conference is not the economy alone, as the ZANU-PF also attempts to handle infighting and factionalism.
