Trump lawyer John Dowd quits

As Trump’s legal team appears to be shedding those who encouraged him to cooperate with Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the US election, US president may be preparing to attack the investigation.

Donald Trump says he’s open to testifying before US special counsel Robert Mueller, who’s investigating possible Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The comments come just hours after the president’s lead personal lawyer announced his resignation.

John Dowd had reportedly clashed with Trump over his handling of Mueller’s probe.
