Gary Lineker has hit back at Tory commitments to invest £550 million in grassroots football, labelling the plans 'bulls***'.

Boris Johnson today annouced that the Conservatives would build thousands of community pitches and back a world cup bid for 2030 during a campaign stop in Cheadle Hulme near Stockport.

Hilarious photos show the Prime Minister take a thumping from the Hazel Grove United's U10 girls team as they practiced their penalties as part of the event.

But shortly after the announcement was made, football pundit Gary Lineker took issue with the pledges.

Responding to a twitter post by Culture Secretary Nicky Morgan laying out the policies, the former Spurs player described it as 'bulls***'.

'Hundreds of millions have been cut from local authority sporting budgets. Carry on.'

As the election campaign neared its final whistle, the Prime Minister donned some tracksuit jogging bottoms, black trainers and a grey hoodie for what he believed would be a friendly kick-about.

After managing to save some spot-kicks, a number of others flew past him into the net, while others hit him in the face and groin.

The 15 minute run-out took place at the Seashell Trust, a charity which helps children with severe learning difficulties.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Corbyn was pictured pouring a number of heady pints at the Sports and Social Club in Barry Island, during a day touring Wales.

The Labour leader has spend most of the day dismissing the controversy surrounding the source of leaked documents used by Labour as proof that Conservatives are planning to sell the NHS.
