Most children trust their parents completely, but these shocking confessions prove even they are prone to lying. 

People from around the world took to anonymous sharing app Whisper to reveal the silly - and shocking - lies they've told their children.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, many parents confessed they had lied in situations where their child could become upset. 

 One mother told her son his father was busy at work, rather than admitting that she wasn't sure of the reason why he missed a visitation.
