They are continuing to investigate the case and declined to comment further.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: 'A 12-year-old boy has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault with occurred in a school in Glasgow on Thursday August 29.
'A report has been sent to the Children's Reporter.'
A spokesman for Glasgow City Council told the Mirror: 'As this is a police investigation it would be inappropriate to comment further.'
The investigation continues.
The school has not been identified yet.
