A transgender woman who was previously jailed for covering her boyfriend in bleach and trying to set him alight has been spared another stint behind bars after lashing out at police who didn't 'use the proper pronouns'.
Charlotte Blundell, 26, had been imprisoned for a 'frenzied' alcohol-fuelled bleach incident that resulted in her boyfriend being stabbed eight times with a screwdriver.
Speaking after the case she said: 'I've calmed down a lot since then. I was drinking a lot and doing drugs - I don't do any of that now.'
Now Blundell has confessed to attempted criminal damage of a police vehicle, failing to surrender, and two counts of harassment after breaching a restraining order at North Tyneside Magistrates' Court.
She admits she lost the plot when police arrested her - but claims that was because 'they didn't use the proper pronouns', and has refused to apologise for the incident.
'They didn't use words like she, or her - they were saying ''he'' or ''Justin'',' claimed Blundell, of Wallsend, who previously went by the name Justin.
'The cop said ''you are dressed like a man - so you will be arrested like a man''.'
Blundell appeared via video link in court on June 25.
Dressed in a green t-shirt and with short, shaved hair, the defendant answered charges put to her as both Charlotte and Justin.
When asked why she wasn't dressed as Charlotte, she claimed somebody burned her wig and clothes as she slept.
Magistrates sentenced Blundell to an 18-month community order. Part of that will address her drinking.

The defendant must also pay an £85 charge.
After being released from HMP Durham she said: 'In my opinion, they got everything they deserved.
'They have the flags on the side of their cars, and claim they are LGBTQ+ friendly - but they were basically calling me a man.
'I don't think the way they spoke to me was adequate.'
Northumbria Police declined to comment on claims made by Blundell, who says she is in the process of transitioning.
