Who needs humans when you can teach yourself how to play fetch? 

One cute pup has invented his own way of playing fetch. 

An adorable video shows an inventive dog ditching his owner for a hill.

One clever dog decided it didn't need a human to play fetch. It could play by itself

In the clip, the dog is seen placing his red ball in a strategic position on the side of a hill. 

He then allows the ball to roll all the way down the hill and runs after it. 

The pooch is seen grabbing the ball and running back to the top of the hill as his owner is heard laughing in the background.   

Within a matter of seconds the dog puts the ball on the hillside once more and happily runs to the bottom to grab it.  

The sweet moment was captured in Washington state. 

It was shared on Facebook by the dog's owner, Melissa Jordan, on Sunday.
