Mother of epileptic 12-year-old boy at the centre of the ‘medicinal marijuana’ row runs a firm selling cannabis oil for £500 a time

  • Charlotte Caldwell sells bottles of cannabis oil for £500 through Billy's Bud Ltd
  • Products include oils, capsules and powder with money used for his healthcare
  • Oil sold is CBD which is legal in Britain because it does not make users high

A mother campaigning for the legalisation of marijuana for medical use sells bottles of cannabis oil for more than £500 on her company’s website.

Charlotte Caldwell is the sole director of Billy’s Bud Ltd – named after her 12-year-old son, who was given the first ever NHS prescription to treat his epilepsy.

Her products include oils, capsules and powder. A spokesman told The Daily Telegraph profits were used to fund Billy’s healthcare. The oil she sells is CBD, a type of cannabis chemical which is legal in Britain because it does not make users high.

Her website says ‘growers are committed to creating and producing the highest quality cannabis products’. The THC variety of cannabis oil, which has psychoactive effects, is currently banned.

There is no suggestion Mrs Caldwell is acting illegally.
